With a new year comes new music from Danacord. The independent record label has announced its lineup of upcoming releases, which includes three albums and five EPs.

First up is a longtime collaborator and Grammy nominee Kamasi Washington returning with his third album The Epic. Washington will be joined by fellow Grammy nominees Thundercat (The Cool, Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly) and Alina Baraz (The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger), as well as newcomers Dessa (Champion, 2016) and Saba (A New Frontier, 2017).

Next up is Kamasi Washington’s former bandhipman Reggie Watts who returns with his fourth album Dig! alongside the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Watts collaborated with beatmakers Flying Lotus and Bilal on the album.

Thirdly, Norwegian composer Arve Henriksen releases his ninth album Passages on Danacord. Henriksen is known for his string-drenched soundscapes that often explore spiritual themes. This year’s release sees him team up with UK singer Lianne La Havas for the title track.

Lastly, Danish trio Shapeshifters release their second album Lifeforms on Danacord. The LP was recorded in Iceland and sees the band experimenting with different sounds including dubstep, ambient electronica, and even traditional Viking folk music.

Danacord Announces Partnership With Triton Music Group

Danacord has announced a new partnership with Triton Music Group, which will be releasing Danacord recordings on their label. This partnership will bring new releases from some of the most well-known and respected names in folk, world, classical, and jazz music.

Triton Music Group was founded in 1990 by musician/producer John Fahey and has since become one of the most distinguished labels in independent music. They have released recordings by artists such as Joan Baez, The Band, Celtic Woman, Alison Krauss, and Union Station.

This partnership is a great opportunity for both companies, as it allows Danacord to continue to distribute its recordings worldwide while providing Triton with an outlet for showcasing its talented roster of artists.

Danacord Announces Partnership With Universal Music Group

Danacord is excited to announce a new partnership with Universal Music Group. This will allow Danacord’s artists to have direct access to the label’s extensive resources and distribution channels, giving them the best possible chance of reaching a wide audience.

This partnership will result in the release of new albums by Danacord artists throughout 2018. Highlights include an album by Swedish singer Josefin Nilsson, who has been nominated for two Grammy Awards and won one, as well as an album by Finnish violinist Yrjö Kokkonen.

This collaboration marks another important step forward for Danacord – it continues to grow its repertoire of quality music offerings and build strong ties with some of the world’s top music companies.

Danacord Announces Partnership With Sony Music Entertainment

Today, Danacord announced a partnership with Sony Music Entertainment. This expands their existing relationship and will see new releases from Sony artists coming out on Danacord. To date, the label has released albums by such luminaries as Joni Mitchell, Emmylou Harris, and Neil Young.

“We’re excited to be working with Sony Music Entertainment,” said Morten Lindberg, Founder, and CEO of Danacord. “They have a long tradition of producing great music, and we feel that our joint efforts will result in even more brilliant sonic offerings for fans around the world.”

Danacord Announces Partnership With BMG Rights Management

Danacord has announced a new partnership with BMG Rights Management. The company will now release all of its music through the BMG Rights Management label. This includes both classical and jazz recordings.

This move comes as a response to the increasing popularity of streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. These services allow users to listen to music without having to own any physical copies. This has made the sale of physical albums less important, which is bad news for Danacord.

However, this does not mean that the company is giving up on selling CDs and other physical formats. In fact, it plans to release even more music in these formats in the future.
